Often when we hear the word well-being we think of our health. However it isn’t just our physical well-being that takes a toll in the hustle of our daily lives. Because let’s face it, it is so very easy to disengage or run on autopilot in our over stimulating, overly busy world.

In a lot of cultures, it is a badge of honor to be an over achiever or workaholic, but the truth is it takes its toll. And yes there are ways of numbing or ignoring our body’s complaints or the signs of mental and emotional exhaustion, but eventually the symptoms will start showing up in your life.

There are major events in our lives that can take us out our natural state of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being, but often is the little everyday things that do the most damage.

For instance…

You may find yourself forgetting were you placed things or leave the house without your phone or wallet or even the only thing you need, to complete the only errand you needed to run. Showing up at the grocery store without the list that is still on the fridge, or the post office without the package you needed to mail, or even your kid who is sitting on the curb after practice wondering where you are.
Outside of the house, plans with friends slip your mind, or at work you forget to send an email or you forget to prepare for an upcoming meeting.

Other times you are too tired or feel too stuck to complete projects, help with homework, cook meals or do the things you love. Sometimes you experience an overall crankiness or shortness of temper around certain times of day that leaves snapping at people.

And eventually you start notice chronic fatigue, back pain, stiffness, headaches, joint pain, or GI issues like indigestion. As time goes on you may realize you aren’t doing the very things that keep you refreshed and on track; like meditation, going for a walk, tapping, journaling, scheduling downtime, etc.,

And that my love is because we are creatures of habit. If we fall out of a habit like a well rounded daily practice, we notice that our self-care gets put on the back burner. This training will be broadcast from Keani's beautiful lake resort but hosted on ZOOM. Emotional signs of mental exhaustion may include: depression, anxiety, cynicism or pessimism, apathy (feeling of not caring) detachment, anger, feelings of hopelessness, feeling of dread, lack of motivation, decline in , concentrating.

Physical signs of mental exhaustion may include: headaches, upset, stomach, body aches, chronic fatigue, changes in appetite, insomnia    weight gain or weight loss, increased illness, such as colds and flu.

Behavioral signs may include: poor performance at work, social withdrawal or isolation, inability to keep personal or work commitments, calling in sick to work or school more often.
